A Same tradition, new theme

UC Davis Picnic Day is an annual city-wide event celebrating the university’s huge array of departments and achievements with over 200 events and exhibitions. It's a beloved tradition, but not many people know that it embraces a new theme every year through a new graphic identity. The 104th Picnic Day celebrated the theme "Where the Sun Shines."

Illustrations, sunshine, joy, community

The brand identity features energetic colors and illustrations reflecting the Davis community.

The main graphic element acts as a badge offering a glimpse into campus — featuring the iconic UC Davis water tower and a really big sun. Smaller badges represent the different events — from live music to chemistry magic shows.

Orange, yellow, and green act as primary colors to create a friendly, celebratory presence without contrasting too much from the UC Davis and City of Davis brand.
